We are hard-wired to remember stories. It’s primal. We’ve developed our morals, built our communities, raised our children, and given birth to movements with stories. It’s how we absorb our world. So if you want to motivate people—really engage them to be ambassadors for your brand—then your brand must have a story. And you need to know who needs to hear it and understand how to go about telling it.

Join some of Colorado’s sharpest storytellers to learn:

PARKING

Parking is available in Lot E (2044 East Evans Ave, Denver, CO 80208). From I-25, exit University Blvd heading south. Turn west on E. Evans Ave. Turn south on S. High St. Take your first left into the Lot E Garage and head to the gate; go to the direct right for guest parking. Use the pay station in the garage so you do not get a ticket! Exit the lot on the southeast corner and proceed up the staircase and across campus walking east towards University Blvd. Margery Reed will be located straight ahead and to the left (near the corner of University Blvd & Evans Ave). Please enter the building and head to the basement level.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Beth HardyBeth Hardy
Beth began her career in magazine writing but soon found her calling in public relations, marketing and social media. She spent eight years on the agency side working with clients in the professional sports, healthcare, travel and tourism, nonprofit and restaurant industries. Then an in-house opportunity with one of her restaurant clients came knocking, and Beth has not looked back. She has spent the last four years managing communications for Denver-based, fast casual restaurant concepts.

As the chief storyteller for Modmarket, Beth taps into her public relations persona to help tell the eatery’s tale of naturally good food to as many people as possible. She utilizes a multitude of platforms to direct the company’s brand identity, online strategy, media relations and local community engagement. In keeping with Modmarket’s innovative approach to all things, Beth is continuously in pursuit of the next great, sustainable resource to help in the storytelling process.

KATLEEN-LUISTRO-HEADSHOTKatleen Luistro 
Katleen Luistro is a Communications/Marketing Specialist by day to Lockton Companies, a fashion/lifestyle blogger by night to her blog, The Modern Alice, and a proud mother to a sassy five-year old named Khloey, 24/7, 365 days a year. She is an entrepreneur that has a background in Finance from Charles Schwab and has now decided to take on another new venture by starting her own fashion label called LUISTRO. She loves all things fashion and her obsession with books rivals her shoe collection. An avid reader, vocabulary maven, and creative visionary, Katleen is an advocate for pursuing all opportunities despite its weight or timing. She believes that taking risks is your ticket to success and that it is better to regret something you’ve done in which you’ve gained knowledge, than to regret something you haven’t done and remain ignorant.

ROB-SILK-HEADSHOTRob Silk 
Rob is a creative marketing leader with more than fifteen years of experience working for digital and traditional marketing agencies, start-ups and directly with companies. At DCPA, Rob oversees brand strategy and creative direction, overall creative output of the internal marketing team, and ongoing digital/content/social strategy and execution. In previous roles, Rob led the development of two departments within marketing agencies (a digital team and a content/copywriting team), spending most of his career in the digital channel producing award-winning work for clients such as Delta Air Lines, General Motors, IBM, CSC and others.

GREG-OLSON-HEADSHOTGreg Olson
Greg has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience. He is a leader in helping companies to implement mobile marketing and sales enablement strategies. Greg has also helped many companies launch and re-launch their businesses, products, and services. Greg has over 100 national speaking engagements.

Greg is Results Driven. He helps companies enable their sales teams to be more effective storytellers which shorten sales cycles and generate interest and demand. In addition, he has developed strategies to help align sales and marketing. He has worked with companies to create and implement customer experience plans that are aligned with business goals. Greg has also helped many companies create great content strategy, combined with advanced technology solutions, to deliver the right message at the right time.

Greg’s personal interests involve Rottweiler rescue and volunteering with Bike Denver. He cycles 12 months a year. He also teaches telemark and backcountry skiing classes for the Colorado Mountain Club as well as leading hiking, climbing and skiing trips. He is actively involved in Improv Comedy and you may seem him on stage from time to time performing.

Theresa Meier ConleyDr. Theresa Meier Conley | Clinical Professor | Department of Marketing

Dr. Theresa Meier Conley joined the Department of Marketing as a faculty member at the Daniels College of Business in 2001. Her business and scholarly interests include: product development, design-thinking, innovation, positioning, brand development, nonprofit marketing and international marketing. She applies her professional corporate experience and academic background as a marketing consultant for a variety of business ventures. Conley came to Daniels after a lengthy career as a corporate marketing executive including positions at AT&T, TCI Internet Services (now Comcast) and US WEST/Qwest (now CenturyLink).

Education: PhD, Curriculum and Instruction, Morgridge College of Education, University of Denver | MS, Communication Technology, Eastern Illinois University | BA, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Eastern Illinois University.
