Calling Out Character: Personas in Type

October 26 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm MDT

- $15.00 - $20.00

Once upon a type… There was a Marketer that searched the letterscape for their brand’s perfect font.

Join the interactive game night that brings together typographic artisans. Learn to convey personality in your business through stylistic text treatment. TYPO, an artistic BINGO game, provides a glossary of industry terms that facilitate dialog. Speakers will share techniques they use to translate persona to type. We will explore how artists attract different audiences through hand lettering, screen printing, and graphic design. Come share how your brand’s story can be told through letter characteristics.

Identity resonates when you marry “character” with characters!

Jason Wedekind
Jason Wedekind, Owner + Letterpress Mechanic, Genghis Kern

Jason Wedekind has been obsessing over typography for a long time. As owner of Genghis Kern Letterpress + Design he strives to create tactile experiences for clients, whether designing an identity from scratch or taking an existing brand and pushing it over the edge through unique production methods. Ten years ago while working as an art director at a small firm he started letterpress printing and collecting wood type. Little did he know the roads that would take him down. Now Genghis Kern does it all from designing and printing one off commemorative prints using hand-set type to producing 30,000 soap boxes. Ask him any type/design/letterpress questions and be prepared for way too long of answers.
