2011 American Marketing Association Colorado Chapter Scholarship

The American Marketing Association’s Colorado Chapter (COAMA) is dedicated to advancing the field of marketing in Colorado. COAMA sponsors a one-time scholarship in the amount of $1000. The COAMA leadership goal of this scholarship is to assist deserving marketing students and promoting the field of marketing.

The American Marketing Association is a professional association for individuals and organizations involved in the practice, teaching and study of marketing worldwide. Our principal roles are:

• Advancing marketing competencies, practice and thought leadership.
• Being an advocate for marketing and promoting its importance, efficacy and ethics.
• Being an essential resource for marketing information, education/training and relationships.

ELIGIBILITY

• Available to undergraduates with a declared major in marketing who have a 3.2 grade-point average or higher.
• You must be a full-time student (carrying a minimum of 12 semester credit hours) at the time of application and when receiving funds (unless you are a last semester graduating senior).
• Scholarship application requirements are below
• Scholarship is competitive; therefore, submission of an application does not guarantee a scholarship award.
• You do not need to have filed a federal financial aid application to qualify.
• This is a one-time award.

3. Essay (no longer than 500 words): In the application form, please submit a personal statement that helps us learn more about you, your experiences, values, interests, community service activities, why you’ve selected to study marketing. For example, you may want to describe a person or an event that has had a significant impact on your life or you may write about your future goals.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Sunday May 1, 2011

Submit one complete application with all required documents listed in the application process by May 1, 2011 to be determined. Submit using the web form.

 Any information received after the application deadline will not be considered.

REVIEW AND AWARD
 

The selection process is the sole discretion of an independent panel selected by the Colorado Chapter Board of Directors. Applications will be based on objective criteria such as academic performance, extracurricular/community activities, and personal and professional goals.

NOTIFICATION OF RECIPIENT

The reviewing panel will notify recipient by email.

DISBURSEMENT OF AWARD FUNDS

Scholarship award is applied to the recipient’s tuition and fees bill. Please contact your school’s Financial Services Office to verify that the award has been properly credited to your account.
